ORGANISED CRIME EXISTS at most levels of our society. However the higher we look the more prevalent and “better organised” we find it to be. Why not take a look at the First Estate as one of the Five Estates in the title of this trilogy and anthology of devious conduct.
The First Estate includes God and the Church. In one word, Religion. One badged member of our worldwide religious entities is the Catholic Church, currently headed by Pope Benedict the XVI.
His title, Pope, could be best explained as the titular head, the CEO, or indeed the President. There are many names for the Big Cheese in modern idiom such as The Boss and so on. This church club give the group of people whatever name and gives them a Patch Badge identity. They gather together in their clubhouses and meeting places to assist each other in various enterprises and to join in common fights in times of financial or social troubles.
They wear the same type of jewellery such as crosses. They carry rosary beads. They pray to idols. Emblems adorn their clothing to identify them as members. They are in the In Group. They are the chosen ones, they are the leaders.
