Chapter 3

Imagine....if!

THE BEST THAT COULD BE SAID about some of that previously highly esteemed profession, ‘lawyer’, is that most of them are almost straight. Let’s face it – any body of people that invented the six minute clock to total their loot at the end of each day has a bent towards extraordinary greed.

Organized crime bosses, according to our incumbent leaders, are described as Northbridge Identities and members of outlaw motor cycle gangs. In some cases this may well be an apt description. However it covers but a small percentage of that particular organized calling, profession, perhaps.

In the series of books I have written entitled, The Fifth Estate, I described St Georges Terrace, Perth, Western Australia as “the most dangerous street in town” and for good reason. One could also describe this strip as a crime scene. Let’s follow it to its end. Yes folks, we are now looking west up the Terrace, under the old archway to the freeway which acts as an effective moat. Such moats protected castles of olden times and were used by the occupants to help stave off attacks from infidels and local peasantry.
